MY STORY
begins with my grandfather
My love and passion for writing began far before I ever thought about my career path. Growing up and dabbling into different subjects, it was clear that my writing skills had been passed down from my talented and creative grandfather, Jack Winter. He was the editor for my family's owned and operated local newspaper and printing company, The Downers Grove Reporter.
fast forward
to my masters program
I found myself as a Master’s Degree candidate writing research papers at the beginning of my career. While my colleagues complained about pumping out 100’s of pages of research per month, I saw it as a fun challenge. My most proud work to date was my 100-page Master’s Thesis on emotions evoked in casual dating relationships, which granted me a Master of Science in Interpersonal Communication.
something missing
creativity
I was encouraged by my mentors to consider a PhD and continue research as my career. While I loved research, learning, and writing, there was something missing, which was creativity.
something missing
creativity
You see, in academia, you have to follow the rules of writing a certain way for an academic audience, or you’re not taken seriously. There was no flair to my writing, no creative twists on words, or spunk that made it fun to read. Most of the time, research experts added unheard of words, just to sound like they know what they are talking about.
corporate worlds
new opportunities
I entered the corporate world and had the opportunity to write for world renowned companies including Vail Resorts and Lululemon. I am always continuing my education, most recently enrolling in coursework by Marketer of the Year, Alex Cattoni on Copywriting, Branding, and Marketing to expand my skill set and offer my services as a freelance writer.

So here I am, working with inspiring entrepreneurs like you, to elevate your brands' words, to speak to your target market, to help sell your inspiring products and services, all while living the life of my dreams.
